The Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) announces that effective Monday 20^th January 2025, proof of address will be required for all National ID Card Registration transactions (inclusive of “change of name” and “change of address” transactions). This measure aims to ensure greater accuracy in the ID card issuance process.

Proof of Address Requirements: Applicants must present a utility bill (dated within the last 3 months) and a copy of the bill for the following transactions:

• Application for a National Identification Card
• Renewal of a National Identification Card
• Replacement of a Lost, Stolen, or Damaged National Identification Card

Additional Requirements: If the utility bill is not in the applicant’s name, a letter of authorisation from the homeowner or landlord is required. The letter must be accompanied by a copy of the homeowner’s or landlord’s National ID, Passport, or Driver’s Permit. The letter must confirm the applicant’s use of the address, state the relationship to the applicant, and specify the duration of residency. Handwritten letters of authorisation are acceptable.

• Electricity
• Water
• Phone (landlines)
• Internet (only on-premise internet bills)

Both physical and electronic copies (E-bills) of utility bills are accepted. Please note that E-bills must be printed.

The Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) advises that the Registration Area Office for Tobago, located at Caroline Building #2, 11 Hamilton Street, Scarborough; and the Registration Area Sub Office for Tobago, located at Roxborough Administrative Complex, Windward Road, Roxborough will be closed from noon (12 pm) on Friday 25th October 2024 due to upcoming Carnival festivities.

Normal operations will resume on Monday 28th October, 2024.

Erin Road, Penal; and the  Registration Area Office for Siparia, located at 14 Mary Street, Siparia will be closed on Wednesday 23rd October 2024  due to a planned electrical outage.

Normal operations will resume on Thursday 24th October, 2024.

The Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) advises that the Registration Area Office for Tunapuna, located at Tunapuna Administrative Complex, Corner Eastern Main Road and Centenary Street, Tunapuna, will be closed from noon on Friday 4th October 2024. This closure is due to the office being sprayed for mosquitoes.

Normal operations should resume on Monday 7th October 2024.

Normal operations should resume on Thursday 26th September, 2024.
