The Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) advises that the preliminary tabulation and verification of
results from the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Elections, held on Monday 12th January 2026, have been
completed in accordance with established electoral procedures.
Of the total registered electorate of 53,239 voters across 15 electoral districts in Tobago, voter turnout was
recorded at approximately 50.69%.
The distribution of votes received by the political parties is as follows:
- I.D.A. – 181
- P.N.M. – 10,456
- T.P.P. – 16,240
- U.T.P. – 8
The total valid votes were 26,885, and the total rejected ballots were 104.
Based on the preliminary count, the Tobago People’s Party (T.P.P.) has won all 15 electoral districts.
The People’s National Movement (P.N.M.) formally requested recounts in the following electoral districts:
1. Darrel Spring/Whim;
2. Scarborough/Mt. Grace.
The requested recounts are scheduled to commence at 3:00 p.m. today.
The Commission emphasises that these results are preliminary and remain provisional, pending the
completion of the recounts and the final validation process.
